907 Weekend-Stagram 8/31

By  |

Whats the best thing about Mondays? Possibly getting back to the office and bragging about how dope the weekend was. This week in particular was awesome because it started for most people on tuesday, Happy Labor Day to Us!

So again we were super stoked to get all hashtag crazy and see some of the most popular events that went on this past holiday weekend. What better way to catch up, than from the people living the 907 Life? With the help of some fellow AK instagrammers, here are the 3 events from this past weekend that had us… Pumped up, Face painted and weekend ready.

Mooses Tooth 18th Anniversary Party w/ Foster the People.

The Moose’s Tooth
Pub & Pizzeria welcomed concert goers to help celebrate its 18th Anniversary with their special guest Foster the People. Thats 18 years of pizza, beer and music.

Did you think a little rain would stop us from jamming out? Please, this is Alaska fool. Music lovers piled in with a rainbows assortment of colored rain coats, grabbed glasses of the Mooses tooth brew and sang along as Foster the People serenaded “all the other kids with the pumped up kicks”.

SHOW STANDOUTS: Rain coats: Its nice to switch things up every once and awhile. We have been lucky this summer, all sunshine, so we’ll give the rain coat a run.

Alaska State Fair 2014.

The first Alaska State Fair was held September 4–7 in 1936. The first year’s Fair included the crowning of the fair queen, a baby show, boxing matches, horse races and dances. There were also agricultural entries, including prizes for giant cabbages. Oddly enough, not much has changed some 79 years later… but its still worth its trip and purchase.

Whats the best part of the fair now? THE FOOD!! Jinks. Along with some pretty entertaining rides and booths, The Alaska State Fair has been providing some pretty solid musical performers. Thompson Square, Seether, Tesla and Flo-rida. Not too shabby. Face paint anyone?

SHOW STANDOUTS: Flo-rida: I have an idea, lets take our shirt off and head into the crowd… no, really. That really happened. Good show Flo. Doughnut Burger: What happens when you put a delicious bacon cheeseburger between a Krispy Kreme doughnut? Magic… Pure Magic.

Labor Day Weekend 2014.

Ima be honest, for awhile… off hand I couldn’t tell you what Labor Day commemorated. Something about work… all that mattered was it was a 4 day weekend. But now,  I am knowing aware that Labor Day constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our U. S. of A. Yea Jobs!

There’s honestly nothing better than an extra day off, of anything. Work, school, we love breaks. Theres Just So Much Time For Activities!! We even have had some decent weather. Time to get out for one of the last few days of summer, Falls here. Hope it was as good for you as it was for us.

SHOW STANDOUTS: Monday off: Who can complain about this? Enough said. Short work weekEven this article was written on tuesday, don’t judge me.

Did you have an awesome weekend? What did you do? We’d love to hear about it… lets us know in the comments or message us about your favorite moments from these events.
