907 Weekend-Stagram 10/5

By  |

We would like to petition that a day be added between Saturday and Sunday. We literally need more weekend, especially after the events from our 2 days off were epic!! Seriously, do you ever wish everyone could have seen you tear it up?  Or maybe you needed everyone to leave you alone so you could sleep? No matter how you spent your weekend, its always awesome to look back.

Hashtag much? We do… we searched some of the most popular events that went on this past weekend to catch up on what you may have missed. And what better way than from the people living the 907 Life? With the help of some fellow AK instagrammers, here are the 3 events from this past weekend that had us… ready to crawl, Irie for buddz and fighting for the tatas.

Pirate Pub Crawl 2014

Anchorage Instagram Collage: All of these photos were collected from actual local accounts without the intention to reproduce or sell them. The Anchorage Downtown partnership hosted its annual Pirate Pub Crawl celebration in grand fashion. The streets of Downtown Anchorage were overrun by pirates, wenches and scallywags. Over 1 dozens bars and pubs participated as participants made their way thru each bar creatively mapped out on treasure maps in hopes of winning a grand prize of 80,000 Alaska Airline miles.

SHOW STANDOUTS: I’m the captain now,  We don’t know how politically correct it is… but it was pretty funny. The nights event greeted everything from mermaids, Neverland’s Peter Pan, even Somali pirates… “Look at me, I’m the captain now.”

Collie Buddz “Live”

Seriously, name the last First Tap that didn’t deliver? Bearstooth and associates did it again with their monthly concert series First Tap featuring reggae mainstay Collie Buddz. This was the second visit to the great state for Mr. Buddz, but he made sure to give just as good of a show. In front of a full house, Collie and his band took a trip thru a few reggae classics as well as some Collie Buddz signatures.

SHOW STANDOUTS: Special effects?: How did they get that artificial marijuana smell inside the venue? If we didn’t know better, we’d said… it really smells like weed in here?

Anchorage Breast Cancer Walk 2014

The American Cancer Society Making Strides of Anchorage reported on their website that 127 teams and over 900 participants have raised an outstanding $164,352.09!! Breast Cancer supporters came out early Saturday morning despite a crisp fall air to take the 3.1 mile stroll to save some tatas. Everyone was dressed head to toe in all things pink… boas, wigs, hoodies and tutus. A huge supporter of the event, the Alaska Aces also came out to show support for the cause as well. Ok, who put the pink wings on the dog?!! #Keepitcute

SHOW STANDOUTS: Encore: “Miss Linda” – the fire engine that has been transformed from its traditional red to pink. Miss Linda has undergone the color change and has been adorned with numerous colored ribbons representing all cancers.

Did you have an awesome weekend? What did you do? We’d love to hear about it… lets us know in the comments or message us about your favorite moments from these events.
